ACOUSTIC CURTAINS
We design acoustic curtains that provide elegance and style to your room. These curtains are not just for
appearance but provide the important function of noise absorption and preventing sound from entering or
exiting the room. Curtains are temporary and can be removed when not required. The general noise reduction
provided by an acoustic curtain is 20 dB(A).
Acoustic curtain are a great option for noise reduction and acoustic control in a residence. It is a great option for those who are having parties that could involve loud music or performance arts as a part of the event. An acoustic curtain helps to prevent reverberation of sound. The sound does not carry out of the house and disturb the neighbours.
Properties: The acoustic curtainsare made of fire retardant fabric which is further chemically treated to make it DFR (durably flame retardant). The curtains are durable and can be dry cleaned a number of times. The fabric used for the acoustic curtains are usually wool surge or velvet velour.
The level of sound absorption depends on the weight and the pleating of the curtain. The heavier the pleating of the curtain the better the sound absorption properties it has. Another factor that is important for the acoustic performance of the curtain is the distance from the wall. This distance is calculated by our acoustic experts depending on the level of sound attenuation required.
We have three grades:
Linings
Standard units are supplied unlined but lining options are available.
Fullness
Standard units are supplied to 50% fullness. This means the degree of pleating. At 50% this means the curtains are one and a half times the width of the track.
