ACOUSTIC TEST CHAMBER
The Envirotech precision designed acoustic test chamber is used for acoustic research. It provides an
environment that is devoid of reflective surfaces for testing the acoustic levels. Equipment that requires
an acoustically treated chamber for testing with background noise isolation can utilise the acoustic test
chamber.
The main functionality of an acoustic test chamber is to test the noise level of equipment or parts to attain the desired noise control level. Most machine parts like fans and compressors generate a lot of noise and acoustic treatment like silencers help to attenuate the noise. The noise level of these parts is meant to conform to the required norms stipulated by the government policies for sound level control.
The sound absorption in an acoustic test chamber is obtained with the help of wedges which are placed on the walls and ceilings. The acoustic test chamber provides a cut off at a specified sound frequency. This quite environment helps to get accurate noise level results which helps to determine the control measures and maintenance of the permissible limit. It is important for manufacturing units to use an acoustic test chamber for checking the noise emission levels of parts and ensuring that they conform to the desired and stipulated sound levels.

REVERBERATION ROOMS
We design reverberation rooms that have highly reflective walls, ceiling and flooring to ensure high
performance of reverberation. The surfaces diffuse sound in random directions. A reverberation room that has
non parallel surfaces is best to avoid standing waves.
A reverberation room is used for testing the sound absorption properties of materials. A reverberation room can also be used to determine the noise output from equipment and machines. Factors assessed are the source of the sound and the direction in which the sound is distributed.
Preferred Minimum Room Volume as a function of Lowest Frequency Band of Interest*
Features of reverberation room
Heavy equipment and equipment that generate high level of noise like aircraft, spacecraft, heavy construction and mining machinery, industrial machines etc. are said to cause noise level fatigue. Testing in the reverberation room helps to determine this limit so appropriate measures can be taken to contain the sound and minimise fatigue.
The Envirotech reverberation room can be made to client specific dimensions. Our reverberation room conforms to the standards and are certified under the government norms.
Reverberation room for sound absorption testing
The reverberation room has highly reflective surfaces with the average absorption coefficient of less than 0.05 at any level of sound frequency taking into consideration air absorption. The volume of the reverberation room is greater than 125 m3. The ratio of the reverberation room to the element should ideally not exceed 2:1. The equipment to be tested should be kept suspended or moving for accurate test results.
Reverberation room for sound power testing
The main criteria for sound power testing lies in the volume of the room. For precision grade sound power testing the room volume is required to be 100 times of the source volume. The sound absorption level should be below 200 Volume 1/3 m3
